ETMK or Enter the Mushroom Kingdom is an upcoming fan film project intended to reimagine the Super Mario Brothers video game series into a horrifyingly realistic science fiction fantasy film.

Becoming Part of the Project

Please do not ask if you can star in the film, as the cast has been worked out and I am not accepting anything of that sort. However, if you wish to become a screenplay writer, an illustrator or special effects artists, you may join. Even if you contribute in more places than one.

Project History

The film was given its original pitch in March of 2005 as a sequel to the already existing Mario Brothers film. In late 2006 however, the project saw a drastic change of plans, and ETMK was born. As of June 2007, there will be two films in the series, though this is tentative.

As seen with the similar project I, Mario, the film has faced a bit of criticism about harming the nature of the games and creating devilish concepts. I assure the fans of the games that this will not denounce the concept or storyline of the series.
